The House of Ten present DEIGHTON'S AFTER DARK

This was the first time Murder of Crows had a group showing.

Neal Ryan and Cody Westman performed this night. I had the pleasure of backing them up on a few songs with my awesome djembe beats...

Murder Of Crows

Megz Majewski+Jenn Brisson+Jacob Biberdorf+JIRISH=Murder of Crows

Started in 2007 with the intention of supporting and promoting each other through group art shows.
We were introduced at the very first "Deighton's After Dark" show, a multi-media event held at Deighton's Well in the heart of Gastown which included art, music and short films by local artists presented by House of Ten...

Merge Show

Here's Megz and i at the Merge Show at Ayden Gallery in 2007. We're so proud of our baby...

Thoughts Stitched Together

...a collaboration i did with the lovely, spooky and talented Megz Majewski for the Ayden Gallery's "Merge: Collaboration Show" in 2007.

The thought bubble was my contribution and the girl with the thought, was Megz's.

...this was first time i ever painted these creatures... and so "TeddyMares" were born...

Lil' Miss Muffet's Revenge

Aahh... the beginning of my obsession with red and black...

i did this painting AGES ago after my run with oils. Touching base with acrylic and my childhood nightmares...

A small window into the mind of a Jezebel spirit...

In order of birth, from top to bottom...

The first one originally had hearts on her privates, but as i was painting, the hearts changed into flames... therefore the title "Change of Hearts"
.

...the next three paintings strangely enough reflected events and feelings that i was going through at the time i was painting them, which i didn't realize until after they were completed. My subconscious? "Queen of Hearts", "Broken Hearts", and "Still Heart" all representing the devil girl in me, i guess... starting at a realization of Being, moving into actions, and then finishing off with a bit of regret and contemplation.

Devil Girl

This painting was given to a friend of mine, Didier Arpin, before he left for Montreal. It was the beginning of a series i did involving devil girls...

Now whether or not this was a self portrait at the time... i have yet to figure out.
