Deightons After Dark 6: Robots Dammit!!!

I made a lil robot for this show named C.H.U.C.K. He was a lil sad robot with so much love to give... he originally had a battery in his head which made his eyes light up, but i decided to remove it since the battery was burning up pretty quick and i didn't want him to catch on fire... he was mostly made of cardboard and spray paint...

A week later i was approached by a friend wishing to adopt C.H.U.C.K.

I accepted, and thought the best way for C.H.U.C.K. to grow up and be a not-so-sad lil robot, was for him to be released into the world.

I just recently bumped into C.H.U.C.K. for the first time since the adoption and to my surprise he had grown into a fine young handsome piece of work. He was very polite and grew a wonderful thick mustache. How proud i am of him! His new parent, Alex Lori, did a fine job raising him.

C.H.U.C.K will soon be traveling to Australia and i look forward to gazing upon pictures of him and reading about his radical adventures. Good luck little one...

...so proud...

Artist Perspective's BREAKOUT

A family friend of mine AJ Lim, started a company called Artist Perspective that promotes local artists(painters, photographers, musicians, fashion, and even culinary) and puts on events to showcase them. "BreakOut" was their first event and it was a great success...

Pushing Sue Aside

Here's a super oldie!! It's the poster for a short i was in called "Pushing Sue Aside" by House Of Ten. It was shot in 2000 or 2001 and i play a girl name Jennifer(how original) who falls for a suicidal loser who just got the shit beat out of him just so he could feel something. It's very special.

C-DRIVE Magazine

I got my first publication thanks to a colleague of mine, Max Hwang. A group of Vancouver artists called C-DRIVE asked me to submit a few pieces for their feature artist section in the second issue of their Vancouver based art magazine. I don't have the pages scanned at the moment, but when i do i'll add them here...

You can find the magazine at various art book stores, including Oscar's Art Books Store at 1533 W Broadway, just west of Granville.

Deighton's After Dark 3: Girls, Girls, Girls

Another old show, but here it is.
My cousin Liz and i played a set here, as well. My mom passed away a week before this show and earlier that day, i got my latest piercing and then went to the funeral home to check on my mom's makeup and hair to make sure it was ok for the viewing hours before the gig...
...needless to say, my head was elsewhere.
But the show went well and i wasn't nervous at all nor did i forget any words!

I had no fear... i was numb...

Out with the Old...

Ok, so... my dear laptop with ALL my stuff on it from the last 5 or so years was taken from me by a bad man(i'm assuming it was a solo male) on Boxing Day... my art, pics(including traveling ones and dear family pics... :( mommy), music i have been recording, loops, work, projects, portfolio, yadda yadda... all of that is now GONE. A HUGE personal piece of ME... of JENN BRISSON was violently stolen!! I even had an external hard drive i could've backed everything up on and didn't(of course). CHOKED!

...OK, i'm over it.

So i will only be able to post a few more things from the last year or so, then it's ALL going to be NEW NEW NEW... which is a good thing, actually(i'm trying to see it that way, anyways). I've been needing to move on and focus on the Now...

So, here's to 2009 and
NEWness! Out with the Old, in with New!
